Oh, my kids are so funny. Yesterday, we were running around town doing errands before taking them to gymnastics. It was just me and the twins, and Daddy was still at work and planning to meet us at Panera for dinner. He was held up at a meeting, and after discussing it by cell phone, we determined that he would be unable to make it to dinner. The kids asked where Daddy was, & I explained he was "stuck at work and won't be coming to dinner."
"Oh, NOOO!" Jakob exclaimed. "If he is all stuck inside, we have to go get a policeman to unlock his building and get him OUT!"
"Well, that's not it, honey," I tried to explain. "He's not locked inside, he's just in a meeting and can't get away right now."
"Does his car not work anymore?" Mia asked.
Jakob offered, "I'm really strong Mommy, I can push his car."
They are just so sweet sometimes I can't stand it. I forget sometimes how LITERAL 3 year olds are!!!
On another note, it has been raining cats and dogs here for what seems like weeks on end. It was coming down really hard today, and while getting everyone out of the car today and into preschool/ daycare, I stepped on my overly-long hems with my heels, in a puddle, and ripped them BOTH out of my slacks. It was way too late to go home and change. I ended up trying to tape them with electrical tape at work (miserable failure), and ultimately had to STAPLE up the cuffs of the pants so they didn't drag on the floor when I walked. I was pretty self conscious all day, wondering what my patients were thinking, but alas, most of the women who come to see me are moms themselves and have had days like this too, I suppose....my hair was also soaking wet (along with the rest of me) by the time I got to work, so I looked like a real winner.
Well, off to finish my DVR's American Idol. We just got the kids off to bed and I have a few moments to myself!
